Ray Moving & Storage is a locally owned and operated company since 1918. We have been affiliated with Mayflower Transit since 1975 to provide economical long-distance interstate shipments and guaranteed move dates. Our owners Dwight Vestal, John Deare, and Dean Barrett, pictured below, purchased Ray Moving & Storage, Inc. in 2003 from the Ray family. Our commitment to quality and caring service still remains the same.

Dwight Vestal - Owner

Vice President/Controller. Began working for RM&S in 1995 as Controller and became one of three owners in 2003. Dwight was born and raised in the Stokesdale, NC area and then graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS degree in Accounting. Dwight is married and has 1 daughter and 1 son.


 

 

John Deare - Owner

President. Began working at RM&S in as dispatcher in 1980. Became one of three owners in 2003. John was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and then graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS degree in History. John is married and has 2 daughters.



 

 

Dean Barrett - Owner

Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Began working at RM&S in 2000 as a sales representative and became one of three owners in 2003. Dean was born and raised in the Greensboro, NC area and then attended East Carolina University. Dean has 2 sons and 1 granddaughter.

Paul Hager

District Sales Manager. Began working for RM&S in 2004. Paul was born and raised in the Greensboro, NC area and then graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Industrial Technology. Paul is married and has 2 twin daughters and 2 sons.


Bob Cole

District Sales Manager. Began working at RM&S in 2005. Bob was born and raised in Bluefield, WV and then graduated form Bluefield College with an Associates degree in Business Administration. Bob has 1 daughter, 1 son, and 3 grandchildren.


Doug Penley

District Sales Manager. Began working at RM&S in 2006. Doug was born and raised in the Greensboro, NC area and then graduated from Western Carolina University with a BS degree in Business Administration. Doug is married with 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 3 grandchildren.

Move Coordinator. Began working at RM&S in 2004. Rebecca was born and raised in the Eden, NC area and then graduated from University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS degree in Business Management. Rebecca is married with 1 son.


Nancy Bishop

Sales Coordinator. Began working at RM&S in 2003. Nancy was born in Newport News, Va. and raised in the Wilmington, NC area and then attended East Carolina University. Nancy is married with 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter.
